Bizanga and Return Path Team to Ease Commercial Sender Verification

San Mateo, CA and New York, NY – January 31, 2007 – Bizanga, the global company behind the most scalable and full-featured e-mail and message processing platform, partners with Return Path, Inc., the premier provider of e-mail delivery assurance and whitelisting services, to extend reputation services and simplify email filtering and bulk sender handling.

Bizanga has integrated Sender Score Reputation Monitor, the most comprehensive email reputation scoring system, and Sender Score Certified, the most extensive reputation-based whitelist available, into the Bizanga Intelligent Message Processor (IMP), providing detailed reputation checks on e-mail senders. Sender Score Certified and Sender Score Reputation Monitor help service providers reduce costs, improve filtering performance and potentially limit liability.

With Sender Score Certified and Sender Score Reputation Monitor available on the IMP, Bizanga’s customers can confidently and aggressively target spam without pressure of accidentally filtering permissioned email, and make decisions about what email to block at the gateway before it enters their network. Sender Score Reputation Monitor can block up to 60 percent of inbound email on reputation alone, freeing up valuable system, network and staffing resources.

“Bizanga offers top-notch email infrastructure defense for ISPs, and by integrating Sender Score services, those defenses become even stronger,” says George Bilbrey, general manager of Return Path’s Delivery Assurance Solutions. “We’re excited to see reputation data play an expanded role and credit Bizanga for taking such a proactive stance for its partners.”

Bizanga’s reputation metadata system on the IMP consists of external reputation data combined with internally generated statistics. Integrating Sender Score Certified into this system allows service providers using the IMP to whitelist certified bulk senders, bypassing further checks for those senders and minimizing resource use. The additional qualitative information available in Sender Score Reputation Monitor lets operators identify bad senders from questionable senders, providing a tool for better automatic blocking of unwanted senders. Fully integrated with Bizanga’s workflow policy processor, Bizanga customers can also activate additional services from Return Path including access to outsourced feedback loops and outbound reputation monitoring.

“Sender Score Certified is an excellent whitelist,” says Marc Sheldon, Bizanga Chief Marketing Officer. “In our tests we have found little overlap between the data available from Return Path and other reputation sources, providing superb results in filtering rates at the network edge on the Bizanga IMP. It is clear that only reputable senders meet the detailed policy review and strict quantitative standards used for determining eligibility for Sender Score Certified.”

Sender Score Reputation Monitor and Sender Score Certified are available for Bizanga’s current and future customers as fully integrated modules for the Bizanga IMP Base Platform starting with version 3.0.

Senders using Sender Score Certified must adhere to extremely strict program standards and are removed from the program immediately upon non-compliance. These standards are enforced by monitoring the comprehensive data available through Return Path’s Sender Score Reputation Monitor. Sender Score Reputation Monitor analyzes data contributed from more than 60 million mailboxes from a large pool of ISPs and filtering companies.
